The government has announced the commencement of admissions for Community Polytechnic Certificate courses.

The Ministry of Education and Sports in Uganda is currently accepting applications for admission into Community Polytechnic Certificate courses at Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions for the year 2025. Interested individuals are invited to apply for a range of courses offered in TVET institutions under both government and private sponsorship.

The selection exercise is set to occur from February 3rd to 7th, 2025, at regional centers located in Gombe, Mbale, Bobi, and Kakiika Technical School. To qualify, applicants must be Ugandan citizens and possess a P.7 certificate or have proof of relevant prior skills.
Dr. Kedrace R. Turyagyenda, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Sports, encourages all eligible candidates to seize this opportunity to acquire technical and vocational skills that will improve their employability and contribute to the advancement of our nation.

Application forms are available at regional selection centers, education offices, TVET institutions, or the Ministry of Education and Sports website. Completed forms should be submitted by January 31, 2025.

The Ministry of Education and Sports offers a variety of technical and vocational courses for students to enhance their skills and improve their employability. Some of the courses available include the Uganda Community Polytechnics Certificate programs in Electrical Installation Practice, Bricklaying and Concrete Practice, Plumbing and Pipe Fitting, Carpentry and Joinery, and Agriculture.

These courses are specifically designed to provide students with the necessary skills to succeed in the job market. The Ministry is dedicated to providing opportunities for Ugandans to acquire valuable skills that will help them compete in the job market and contribute to the country’s development.
